physical development

When the new semester begun I been very anxious about time, so when the new semester started I tried to waste no time and do as much as I can. For the first week of the new semester I put all my energy into making revisions, I recorded the midterm presentation so I went back to reflect more clearly on the comments that were mentioned. One comment that resonated the most with me is that I am over complicating my already complex chair, is it worth putting in so much work on the compound bend when it might not be noticeable? This comment made me re-evaluate my lounge chair. I broke apart the compound elements into 2 different models simplifying the construction, from making these models I can see if dropping that compound bend will hinder the way it looks visually, and which bend will illustrate my concept the best.

From the information I gather from my models I then took them into Solidworks to define my lines in space. I modelled the side table and lounge chair, I think I am satisfied with the overall frame of my lounge chair, because I am still unsure of a backrest shape for my lounge chair I have not yet completed the drawing.

Finally week 3 of the new semester this week I started creating mockups as midterm is just around the corner. I am starting off with crafting the “easier” piece first, the side table. Making sure I construct my mock-up side table as accurate as possible so I can re-create it when I use final material. This process is taking a very long and difficult time, insuring the jigs are accurate and easily reusable without it braking.
