5 weeks into the new semester and we have our midterm already. This is the stage we show what we have been working on and finalize decisions. We need to push for the finish line and work towards completing the pieces we set out to accomplish, aiming for very refined details.
I presented My lounge chair and side table. I already have a lot to work with in these 2 pieces so I have decided to focus on completing only those 2 pieces in full scale, and to omit the ottoman. I think my midterm critique was very good, knowing that I am on the right track for what i am working towards feels great. This doesn't mean I can start making the final product though; For both pieces I need to refine the details, how parts come together to make the chair more elegant and refined and the side table to be more structural.
After the critique I lost all motivations to work on my projects, right now I am very stressed out, I have 7 weeks left to complete the project and there is still a lot of refinements I need to make, then I need to figure out all the jigs and joinery. I work in the studio everyday but I never feel like I am moving anywhere. I.Am.Tired.
Hopefully next week I will get my motive to work again.
